Elomatic, an international consulting and engineering company, has announced the deployment of a new document management module within Aura™ APM, Elomatic’s asset performance management platform for technical ship management, in collaboration with Virgin Voyages. Supported by Elomatic’s subsidiary Ablemans LCS, the launch will roll out across the Virgin Voyages fleet, starting with the brand’s headquarters and aboard Valiant Lady, with full fleet completion targeted by end of 2026.

Virgin Voyages needed a document management solution that would meet the technical requirements of multi-vessel operations. The module organises documents by vessel, system, and asset hierarchy, as well as version control, integrated approval flows, a fully auditable document log, and role-based permissions. The system gives both shoreside and shipboard teams an authoritative source for technical documentation, with an on-premise option for limited-connectivity scenarios at sea.

Nico Lehtinen, Director, Digital Transformation at Elomatic, said: “Document control sits at the heart of safe and efficient ship operations and dry dock projects. Developed by marine experts, Aura APM’s document management is designed with maritime requirements in mind, and the deployment with Virgin Voyages is a clear demonstration of what a purpose-built platform can deliver.”

Stefano Pisano, Sr. Director Technical Operations at Virgin Voyages, said: “We needed a document management solution capable of supporting multi-vessel operations with proper access controls and a clear audit trail. Aura APM provides our teams with the structured, reliable document control they need, both onshore and at sea, and we look forward to extending it across the fleet.”

The document management module being implemented at Virgin Voyages is part of Aura APM’s dedicated dry dock bundle, currently in final development. The bundle brings together document management, project management, and permit management within a single package. This provides shipowners with a greater level of control over the entire dry dock process, from planning through to project closure, including straightforward tracking of project deliverables and coordination with subcontractors.
